My Fairytale - Part Two

And so we left the princess, thinking she had finally made sense of her life.

However, her relationship with the prince was not perfect. When the prince did things that hurt Emma, it broke her heart. Though she knew he did not do them spitefully (and merely because he was thoughtless,) they cut deep into her. For the prince was the first person she ever let see who she thought was her true self. While at social gatherings, the princess would never be the most sociable and outspoken person at the party. This was not, as some people assumed, because she was cold and felt superior to her subjects - it was merely because she felt that if she did not let people see and know the real her, then it would not matter if they did not like her. Because they would not KNOW her. They would not be saying means things about her, they would be saying mean things about who they thought she was, someone who did not exist. When the prince hurt her, he knew he was hurting the real her, the girl that was afraid to let people close, to let people see who she really was... And the princess' insecurities meant that no matter how much the prince said he loved her, that she was beautiful, that she could be anything she wanted to be, it was never enough.

Walking oxymoron that she was, she pushed him away because she was scared to lose him... So they would argue and fight and towards the end, they forgot to just love.

All the while, Emma started to drift away from her life. The more she fell for the prince, the further from her friends, family and life she really felt. That was until she met the fairy queen, Cucukachoo. She reminded Emma that there was life outside of her prince. She had found her soulmate (ooc: that good enough for you, Marli? lol: bic) one girl in the world that she knew to be supreme. For the girl, unlike many, many people in Emma's life, that she had lost in the past, was trully herself. When Emma looked at her, and as Emma got to know her, she realised that it is okay to be yourself, no matter who that person is... Everytime she was with Cucu, she wanted to be a better person.

However, the closer she got to Cucu, the further she fell from Verity. Though she loved Verity, it hurt Emma to see Verity hate herself so. Verity was, in Emma's eyes, amazing - the smartest girl in all the kingdom, funny, kind, her BEST FRIEND... And the more Emma felt them drift, the more she fought to keep Verity in her life.

Then one day, something horrible happened. An evil sorceror, named Jaques Daniel, put a wicked spell on the Prince Charming, and Emma's good friend Layne. Jaques made Layne and Charming forget all about Emma, and while they were down at the local tavern, the pair kissed, as Emma waited with her friends at a royal party up the road, scared that they had been eaten by a troll, or worse!! Emma eventually found out about the fatal kiss, and this, dear listeners, is where things really start to get interesting -

The princess, your typical 17 year old teenager, was very dramatic when she found out the truth. She cried, (oh how she sobbed!) She groaned, (oh how she groaned.) The moment she found out, she felt her Prince start to slip away, but she couldn't let him go. For when the Prince said he loved her, she almost believed him! So the princess asked the Prince to prove his love for her - though they were no longer officially a pair, they were still seeing each other. Emma could just not commit until she knew that the Prince would fight for her - by slaying dragons, and buying her flowers. At first things seemed good - Emma started to believe the Prince had just made a mistake due to the terrible influence of the evil Jaques Daniels, and she trully thought that over time, they would be able to find each other again.

But this was not what was fated - though the Prince claimed he loved her, and kissed her in a way that made her feel like the most loved person in the world, and held her in a way that made her feel complete, there was something missing. He would not commit to her, because he didn't have the time, with all his princely duties, to treat her like she deserved to be treated. The princess spent a few months lost in this horrible cycle - she would have fought for her Prince forever, as long as she really believed the Prince loved her like she loved him.

Then, one day, Emma and the Prince were talking, and he admitted, tears in his eyes, that he was starting to have feelings for Emma's best friend, Verity! Emma's heart broke to pieces, but she could understand. During their time apart, she had also grown to have feelings for an archer she had once felt for in the past, so she thought she could look past the Princes' admittance as long as he could get past his feelings. Emma begged the Prince to reconsider -- for he knew that of all the things he could do in the world, Verity was the one thing that would break the Princess into pieces -- and she convinced herself that his feelings for Verity were not real. That because things were less than rosey with her and the prince, he had put Verity on a pedastool, seeing her as an easy solution to their flailing love. The princess lost herself in that moment - though Cucu, Chi-andler, Joann, Gemla and other friends tried to tempt her away from her dire situation, she could not emerge from the firey depths... she was lost in love.

Emma sent a messenger to Verity in the woods, asking her if she had ever considered if she would be with the man Emma loved if he propositioned her. It would have torn Emma to bits, but she needed to know. After Verity's ambiguous answer, Emma decided to leave it a few weeks before contacting her again, while she tried to save her love with the Prince. It was not that she loved Verity any less than the Prince - Emma just honestly didn't have enough energy to fight for them both... She was fighting with her last breath for her Prince. The Prince snuck off to meet Verity and came back to Emma, who discovered his lies. He told her that he had realised she was right, that he had put Verity on a pedastool and by meeting up with her, he had realised he really wanted the Princess. The Prince and Verity agreed to stay away from each other for a few weeks while Emma got her head around things, as she had been neglecting her royal duties (or A levels, whatever,) as she became so wrapped up in his lies.
